Il mwcqcipresso giapponese (mwcgChamaecyparis obtusa mwcwmwdaSiebold, 1847, conosciuta anche come mwdqTetragona aurea, mwdgcipresso hinoki o semplicemente mwdwhinoki)cite-ref-2[2], è una specie di mwfacipresso originaria del mwfqGiappone centralecite-ref-farjon-3-0[3]cite-ref-rushforthc-4-0[4].

Possiede chioma foltissima con fogliame color giallo-oro. Di crescita molto lenta, risalta con grande effetto in aiuole di erica; predilige il terreno umido non calcareo.
